RCS has an immediate need for a Field Representative in Carpentersville/Elgin area.  This is a full-time, contract assignment. Local candidates are required as there is no relocation or per diem available for this assignment.

Our client is an is a leading energy efficiency company. They help businesses and individuals reduce energy use and lower their utility bills through energy programs that they design, market and implement. They achieve all this through financial incentives, education and energy management strategies and solutions.

Summary
The Field Representative is responsible for representing both the company and its clients in a professional and responsible manner, maintaining detailed records, working within a team environment and adhering to company and utility protocols, procedures and policies. 

The primary role of the field representative is to visit targeted (retail) sales channels throughout the territory. During visits to these locations the field representative will engage in product pricing audits, light merchandising and labeling in an effort to increase visibility on the value proposition of targeted products. The team members will also conduct in-store training events with both store personnel and consumers providing education and empowerment on the benefits being offered through our promotional efforts.

The field representative will spend up to 80 percent of their time driving to and visiting established accounts. The field representative will build and maintain relationships with accounts and act as a professional liaison between our client, corporate office and partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct field visits to assigned channels within the territory.
  • Provide light merchandising services to all accounts on a regular basis.
  • Schedule in-store promotions
  • Conduct pricing audits and ad hoc data collections/verification. 
  • Submit merchandising photographs to home office as requested.
  • Submit site visit reports, time, and mileage daily.
  • Provide services within the parameters of the terms and conditions set forth by company client.
  • Make recommendations that can enhance our delivery of services
  • No customer interaction at this time due to COVID19. However, in the future when it is safe after the pandemic has passed, activities would include the following:
    • Schedule and conduct consumer training sessions and/or promotional events (including evenings and weekends).
    • Schedule and conduct retail associate training sessions.
    • Train store owners/managers, sales associates, and other employees on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

  • Must follow proper COVID19 Safety Policy (Complete Daily Contact Tracing Form, wear PPE including masks and gloves)
  • Retail experience required.Preferred merchandising and/or route sales experience.  
  • Technology savvy (able to use an iPad and other electronic equipment)
  • Independent, responsible and accountable. 
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Maintain a residence within client territory near Woodstock, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Carpentersville, West Dundee, Huntley, Marengo, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, and Sleepy Hollow.
  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Be able to drive an automobile for long distances/time-frames.
  • Attend all company training events, scheduled staff meetings and conference calls.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel and Outlook).
  • Be friendly, outgoing, organized, efficient, able to work well independently and as part of a team; this position requires a person who is self-motivated, reliable and flexible.
  • Feel comfortable presenting information one-on-one and in front of large groups in a clear, concise and friendly manner.
