RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Heavy Quality Assurance Project Manager located in Rockford, IL. This is a contract opportunity with a duration for up to 6 months to a year long.

Our Client
Our Client specializes in the design and manufacture of large, heavy components. The locations are two of only a few North American suppliers of large, heavy-walled nuclear components and vessels.

Summary

Our Client is currently looking for a qualified Manufacturing Quality Assurance Project Manager to be the on-site liaison at our vendor’s manufacturing site.

The person in this role will:

  • Serve as a liaison between BWXT and our Vendor to perform contractual oversight to help meet delivery deadlines
  • Establish reports, review technical work scope, review purchase orders (POs), report back
  • Position may require some travel to BWXT’s office in Mt. Vernon, IN
  • Oversight of production process to ensure that production is completed, documented and shipped out accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure that production schedule is on track, communicate with the shop floor and project team
  • Support of production manufacturing processes on assigned shift for dedicated product lines.
  • Perform quality engineering tasks for resolution of quality issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection plans.
  • Participate in audits of internal departments and suppliers to assure compliance to customer and internal requirements.
  • Shop floor surveillance to compliance to internal procedures and customer standards.
  • Support of hourly inspection personnel and development of inspection technique documentation.
  • Perform maintenance of quality assurance records
  • Participate on design teams for development of product inspection plans
  • Perform analysis of quality trending data to implement product improvement actions.
  • Be responsible for procedure development and ownership, to include maintenance of ISO9000 quality system procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes.

Requirements

  • No degree required. Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline a plus.
  • At least three (3) years' relevant experience. 
  • Prior experience in a QA Engineering role
  • Documentation Control experience is a plus
  • Project Management experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and problem resolution skills
  • Background in shop surveillance, inspection, data trending, procedure development, and corrective action.
  • Background in heavy machinery, welding, pressure vessels and manufacturing. Nuclear experience is a plus
