RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer 4 located in Aiken, SC. This is a Direct Hire permanent position.

Job Summary:

Our Client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 4 to be based in our Aiken, SC location.The Engineer is responsible for perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments. Responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas under close supervision.
  • Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review.
  • Assist in generation of specifications and engineering data.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Additional Information:Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and background.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7 years of professional experience 
  • Experience with mechanical engineering in field and design work.
  • Ability to perform calculations and analysis of mechanical engineering problems.
  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen only.
  • Dual Citizenship will not be accepted for this position.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with DOE
  • PE License Preferred
