Job Summary

Our Client is currently seeking a Senior Power Delivery Project Manager with 10+ years of experience to work in our Client's office. This position will primarily will lead substation design projects, ranging from 12.47-kV to 500-kV including new, retrofit and upgrade projects including switching station and P&C projects. This full-time position requires a highly motivated individual who can work effectively as both a team leader and a team member. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with client interactions, working and communicating with consultants, managing projects through completion and working both collaboratively and independently. The ideal candidate will possess strong design and planning skills, be knowledgeable with the State of Georgia and Florida’s ­building codes and have experience with the design of projects within existing buildings.

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include successful management of technical and financial aspects of multi-utility power delivery projects, management and development of client relationships, and marketing Power services to existing clients.
  • Accountable for managing engineering design for multiple power projects, including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, and coordination of design, procurement, and construction.
  • Responsible for the profit and loss of individual projects, the successful completion of projects within specified dates, and establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the Owner, subcontractors, regulatory agencies and any other project stakeholder.
  • Provide overall management of projects from concept to completion including siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, project controls, bid phase services, procurement, construct-ability reviews, material management and closeout. Drive project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs;
  • Directs the production of engineering deliverables encompassing all aspects of design including: arrangement drawings, single lines, three lines, AC and DC schematics, protection and controls, equipment wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, calculations, and related electrical system studies.
  • Manages all aspects of complex projects and makes project engineering execution decisions. Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members.
  • Responsible for coordinating project schedules.
  • Quality / Continuous Improvement: Promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
  • Develops strong relationships with and becomes a trusted partner with clients.
  • Responsible for identifying key client interests and drivers on projects.
  • Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns.
  • Works to identify future client needs and how to better position our Client to best serve those needs.
  • Provides support to business development activities.
  • Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations;
  • Assist with internal project financials, staffing, legal coordination, risk management, and human resource issues.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with client regarding efforts such as client coordination, strategic planning, master scope management, budget finances, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support and schedule attainment.
  • Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project controls systems and implement the project execution plan.
  • Work closely with the Project Team to confirm deliverables and services are being provided to client’s satisfaction.
  • Report regularly on progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring office support.
  • Develop and mentor team engineers and members on design and execution efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or specialty field from an accredited four-year college or university with a P.E.
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience including a history of successful client management resulting in new and add-on business while leading a team of engineers.
