RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Test Engineer/Cyber Security located in Germantown, MD. This is a 6 month Full-Time Contract to Hire Assignment.

Job Summary:

Vulnerability Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, operate and maintain Tenable product deployments across on premise sites and cloud deployed systems
  • Operate and maintain other system components that work in conjunction with Tenable products.
  • Be willing to grow into other supporting roles to meet job rotation requirements.
  • Troubleshoots network problems.
  • IP address auditing.

Vulnerability Engineer Job Duties:

  • Provide technical support for the Tenable Nessus scanning solution including executing scans, perform daily administration support, and maintain version status for all deployed products
  • Provide support in the capture of CVE enumeration and reporting
  • Be able to build and customize reports.
  • Create CDM dashboard of vulnerability status across the enterprise
  • Balance network scanning schedules with the mission impact and network performance across the enterprise
  • Create technical documents, drawings, how-to guides and other deliverables
  • Adhere to security best practices and comply with company standards
  • Communicate and present recommendations for vulnerability remediation to infrastructure engineers or managers in written and oral format
  • Maintain knowledge of security regulations, best practices, countermeasures, compliance standards, and current threats
  • Ensure remediation of all, but not limited to, critical and high vulnerabilities within prescribed timeframes, not inclusive of the standard POA&M process
  • Implement audit scans and penetration tests for applications and systems
  • Work with patch management applications and support patch management Operations where needed
  • Oversee Remediation Activities
  • Research and analyze vulnerabilities, identifying relevant threats, corrective action recommendations, and control false positives.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Prior experience, preferably 2+ years on a Cyber security project using tools such as Tenable Nessus
  • Exceptional customer focus and bias for action
  • Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience managing service providers
  • Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and work with tasks which have shared responsibilities.
  • Will need to meet clearable government background check.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Experience working for a government enterprise preferred.
