RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Generation Electrical Engineer in St. Louis, MO.  This is a full-time direct hire position with our client.

Job Summary

Our client  is seeking an Electrical Engineer in St. Louis with background in utility fossil fuel power plants. The Electrical Engineer needs to have a desire to be in Project Management or have Project Management experience and want to support client development team in developing new clients and developing work with existing clients.

Technical responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluation of existing and the design of new electrical systems for various projects on coal and simple cycle combustion turbine plants.
  • Electrical projects could include power distribution with medium and low voltage systems, switch-gear and motor control centers
  • Computer modeling/analysis of electrical systems
  • Power generation, protective relaying
  • Convenience power, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection systems
  • Design of schematic and wiring diagrams
  • Preparation of specifications for equipment and systems
  • Report preparation
  • Determining code requirement
  • Performing and reviewing design computations.
  • Electrical Engineer must be able to coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas as necessary, managing a design budget and schedule, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in these areas.

Position includes project management responsibilities including scope, schedule and budgetary control, as well as integration into client standard process and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University.
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience (salary varies based on level of experience).
  • Have excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Understanding of developing engineering drawings and specifications
  • Sizing, selecting, and specifying electrical equipment and coordinating information with vendors and other engineering disciplines.
  • 10 years Experience in Electrical Generation Experience of Fossil Plants

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas: gas and coal fired boilers, simple cycle and combined cycle gas turbines.
